Course Access & Completion Rules

The following rules govern your access to and completion of our course, as required by TDLR regulations:

Access Period:

  • You have 180 days (6 months) from the date of purchase to complete the course
  • After 180 days, access may expire and a new enrollment may be required
  • Course access is for the enrolled individual only and may not be transferred

Identity Verification:

  • You must complete the course yourself — having another person complete it on your behalf is a violation of these Terms and Texas law
  • We may use identity verification measures as required by TDLR, including knowledge-based questions
  • Providing false identification information is grounds for immediate account termination without refund and may constitute fraud under Texas law

Completion Requirements:

  • You must complete all required course modules in full
  • You must pass all module quizzes with the required minimum score
  • The course must be completed within your court-ordered deadline if enrolling for ticket dismissal
  • Minimum time requirements per module must be met as required by TDLR (you cannot fast-forward through content)

TDLR regulations require that the course take a minimum of 6 hours to complete. Our platform enforces mandatory minimum time per module. Attempting to bypass these time requirements will result in your course progress being invalidated

Certificate of Completion

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, you will receive an official TDLR-approved Certificate of Completion.

Certificate Delivery:

  • Your certificate will be delivered to your registered email address in 5 business days upon course completion
  • You may also download your certificate from your account dashboard
  • Certificates are delivered in PDF format and are suitable for submission to Texas courts and insurance companies
  • We also report your completion electronically to TDLR as required by law

Certificate Validity:

  • Your certificate is valid at all Texas courts in all 254 Texas counties
  • For ticket dismissal, your certificate must be submitted to your court within the deadline provided by your court (typically 90 days from court approval)
  • For insurance discount purposes, the discount period typically runs for 3 years from the date of your certificate

Lost or Duplicate Certificates:

  • Duplicate certificates may be requested through your account or by contacting us
  • A small administrative fee may apply for duplicate certificate requests made more than 90 days after course completion

We submit your course completion data to TDLR electronically. If your court or insurer needs to verify your completion through TDLR, they can do so using your certificate information.

Ticket Dismissal Process & Responsibilities

If you are enrolling in our course for the purpose of dismissing a Texas traffic ticket, the following terms apply:

Your Responsibilities:

  • You must contact your court and obtain approval to take defensive driving for dismissal BEFORE enrolling in our course

  • You are responsible for paying any court administrative fees directly to your court
  • You are responsible for confirming your court’s preferred submission method (in-person, email, or mail)

Our Responsibilities:

  • We will provide you with a valid TDLR-approved certificate upon successful course completion
  • We will report your completion to TDLR as required by law
  • We will provide customer support to assist with any questions about your certificate

Limitations:

  • We do not submit your certificate to your court on your behalf unless you separately request and pay for this service

  • You are responsible for contacting your insurance company and submitting your certificate to claim the discount
  • We are not affiliated with any insurance company and do not act as an insurance agent or broker
  • We are not responsible if your insurance company declines to apply a discount, changes its discount policy, or requires additional documentation

Contact your insurance company directly before enrolling to confirm they honor defensive driving discounts for TDLR-approved courses and to understand their specific requirements.
